Re: [emrat:5743] Easy Rider up for auction

Dan; you could have been in the cast of "The Leather Boys"!

As far as pictures go:

Me; relaxing in Oahu, working (?) for the Admiral....

Pocket Rocket Ron; probably up in the air over the South China Sea, getting shot at....

Larry; probably humpin' his ass thru the grass, getting shot at....

When I got off active duty and back home, the first thing I bought was a Bultaco Lobito 175!

OMG!!!  OK, where are some photos from that era of Wayne?  Ron?  Larry?  Anyone else?

Well, here is my photo again.  Somewhere in the southwest of England, September 1971, breaking in my new bike, before crossing the Channel to France

I rode this bike—which I still have—to my first RAT rally at Steamboat in 2002.  And then decided I needed a modern Triumph, which led me to buy the 2001 Speed Triple, which started me down a very slippery slope.

I remember one of your pictures from back then. Good stuff. I was bit of a non-conformist with my past life in looks as well. I have had hair down to my behind, mohawks (Purple and Green) earrings etc. The only thing I still have are my tattoos and my old biker jacket from the 80's (from my punk days, now with my 59 club patches).  I'll regret this I am sure, but here is one of my hippie pics.

Thanks, Doc.  I thought there were only three bikes built: the one destroyed at the end of the film and the two that were stolen.  I guess I did not know about the 4th one at the museum in IA nor about a third one being stolen.  I think imitations have been built over the years by other people.  Seeing the movie for the first time in 1972 when I returned to the US was pretty powerful, given the times.  I had hair down to my shoulders, wore John Lennon glasses and rode my 71 650 Triumph Tiger.
