All Hinckley manufactured Triumphs have braided brake lines as standard OEM fitment. Technically, braided stainless lines are actually Teflon tubes with a braided stainless sheath over them. Teflon lines don't degrade or expand like rubber ones do, but they're extremely susceptible to cuts. The stainless protects them from that. Triumph's lines add a layer of rubber on top of the stainless, which helps stop things that might otherwise get between the strands of stainless.

 

Mechanically you bleed the ABS brakes the same as non-ABS. I vacuum bleeder systems. However, bleeding the ABS modulator will get involved if any air gets introduced into the modulator. You will not be able to bleed the modulator without a diagnostic tool and detailed instruction.

 

I ensure all my fluids are changed pre the bikes service manual. This is, unless I notice something during my pre-ride check.

Reports on various forums suggest that one should change brake and clutch hydraulic fluids annually.  Frankly it's not something I've ever thought about until seeing an article.

 

Do you folks do that?

Is that something a dealer routinely does as part of annual or mileage based services and I just never noticed it?

Is that something you DIY folks do yourselves?

Does it make a difference, timing or skill to do it, if one has ABS?

 

On a related topic, for non-racing use, are stainless braided lines worth doing?

 

Thanks and maybe this is a future meeting topic if I'm not the only idiot who doesn't know what 's a safe practice.
