All -

I have taken the printed calendar and put it on an online calendar, to make it easier to keep up to date with new or changed events.

You can access the calendar at: http://bit.ly/emrat-cal (bookmark it!)

You may find the Month or List views easier to read for upcoming events. You can find these options in the upper right corner of the calendar:

Manny will be working to make any changes he is aware of, but if you spot anything missing or needs changing, please let me or Manny know and we can update it.

The new EMRAT Sunday Ride. May's ride will be the second ride of this format. The idea is that we meet somewhere, figure out a ride, and be on the road at 10:00. Show up early if you'd like to relax, have a bite and a cup of coffee. Just a nice short ride to be back in time to relax for the remainder of your Sunday. Route suggestions welcome. I would like to head up Golden Gate if conditions are good.

Right now, the meeting point is Bear Valley Coffee on Dartmouth, just west of Sheridan.  Watch for potential changes.  Thanks everyone,

Manuel

Erico's will now have to deeply discount this demo bike since TK took it out for an unsupervised ride.  From personal observation, TK has enough room in his garage for a second bike to park next to his BMW.  I would even help him clean it out to make room.  Finally, I think my 955i Daytona can also hit 90 mph . . . but in first gear.

Re: [emrat:6816] Triumph in the Rockies 2015

Having ridden from Ouray to Red Mountain Pass a few times on my pedal bike, I am really going to miss not going on this one. Alas, I have already committed to http://www.rockabillyontheroute.com/ in June and have already booked my room for TiTaos in Sept and that is using up all the "act like a single 50yr old guy" points I have acquired from my wife since my Sprint purchase last November. Too early to start planning 16?

Just be extra careful on some of those left hand bends going up to Red Mountain Pass, cross the white line and it is a 1,000 foot drop til you hit something.

That was funny Dan, I had a similar thought, though it's called 2nd gear on my 955 Sprint.

Norm, I would like to see you in KISS platform shoes. I'd buy them for you just to get a picture. This pick of me wearing platform shoes are close, but not as tall as the KISS versions that you would look rad in. LOL

Woweeee!  Just finished taking the Tiger XC for a demo ride.  That
thing is a plush ROCKET!  Hit 90 mph on 6th Avenue without leaving 3rd
gear and it wasn't even close to red line.  Wheelies, no problem
either.  It is a sweet ride but would require plenty of modification
to fit someone of my height for proper off-road functionality.  I can
confirm this however, getting to the dirt would be an absolute blast!

You might have noticed the recommendation for the seat release mechanism mentioned on the Rat Forum.  I've ordered one and when I get it and install it I'll let you know my thoughts.  I like to add a D-Ring pad under my seat when touring to attach luggage, tents etc.  The allen bolts are a pain in the ass so this looks like the solution.  It's an aftermarket part from the UK.

However, fabricating a hinged seat system would require major modifications to the seat pan itself.  You'd have to start by removing the two "horns" that go into slots on the frame in the center and the other one that slips under the tank to hold down the forward part of the seat.  You'd have to make some kind of attaching plate. and then bolt it to the seat.

Honestly, I doubt it would be cost effective and that's why even though the Bonnie platform has remained relatively unchanged since 2001, the only aftermarket solutions have been elongated attachment screws that make it possible to unscrew the rear attaching bolts without needing an allen wrench.
