Re: [emrat:11828] Motorado?

I stand corrected.  Dan is right, I showed them I had the clean title, then when it sold, I came in and signed the title and got a check for the sale.

A few years ago, I bought my 2008 red 1050 Sprint ST from Motorado (because Brian Weberg balked at buying it when we went to look at the bike).  My gain, Brain's loss.  😊

The Motorado owner, Ron Baird, worked at Erico's back in 2007-2008, handling sales paperwork, so I've known Ron a long time.  He's a stand-up guy.

My son-in-law, Mike Kamstra, sold his bike through Motorado.

Ron and his crew carefully inspect a bike, and tell the owner to go get the problems fixed if they find anything.  It's in his interest to not let a seller slip a lemon past him and on to the showroom floor.

The title remains with the seller until it goes to the buyer.  In other words, Motorado does not take over the title.

I think you can find very good bikes at Motorado for substantially less money than you would fork over at a dealer.

In short, I highly recommend Motorado for both buying and selling bikes.

I sold my Triumph America, about 5 years ago.  They charge $100 (at least back then) to detail your bike and they do a great job.  You discuss with them what you expect to get.  They add a few $100 and if it sells for more than your price you get your price and they keep the difference.  Did not happen for me, but if a buyer offers less, they call you and get your permission to take less.  My friend Vince bought a BMW that way and he sold his Harley through them.  They do list the bike on Cycletrader as well as their website.

One of the advantages is they have tie-ins with Credit Unions and they can finance the transaction.  Many buyers of used bikes can't just write a check so that helps the market place.

Who here has sold a bike through Motorado?  How was your experience?  Do they take a flat fee or a percentage?  Is there a time limit?

Looking to finally sell the BMW.  Nice bike but I really want to focus on the Bonneville this year and I could use the cash and the garage space.
