Definitely sounds like classic R/R issues.
I have two OEMs from speedmasters but I think they're both in Atlanta. I'll check.

Jake: I haven't pulled anything out yet but I did measure the charge at idle and it is only 12.8v. Even when I rev the engine it stays at 12.8v.On our long ride yesterday battery was dead after lunch. We got it bump started and I rode home, 80 miles at 70+ MPH and the battery was, again, dead when I got home. That's when I put the voltmeter on it and discovered it was only showing 12.8v.From what I've seen on the Intertoobz, this is a classic symptom of a failing rectifier/regulator.I just wanted to know if maybe somebody had upgraded their R/R and had a spare one laying around I could swap in. It's not a terribly expensive part ($129) but not dirt cheap either. I figured if somebody had a good one I could swap it in and see if that fixed the problem.MartinOn Mon, Apr 4, 2022 at 2:23 PM Jake Lehner <jakelehner@gmail.com> wrote:@martin how is the R/R behaving? On my speedmaster (non-ego) I was having charging issues. Found the R/R was putting out low voltage at idle.Replaced it with a Rick's MOSFET R/R and all was well with the world.Might be worth just going for the replacement Ricks. It's a better product over OEM anyway.--On Mon, Apr 4, 2022 at 1:48 PM Jim Baker <beaker@pobox.com> wrote:Since we're asking these questions, if anyone has a spare working stator from a SOHC CB750, hit me up ;)On Mon, Apr 4, 2022 at 12:49 PM Martin Richard <martinarmy1961@gmail.com> wrote:I know it's a long shot, but by any chance does anybody have a functioning rectifier/regulator for an air cooled (preferably non-EFI) Bonneville that I could borrow? I'm having charging issues and I'd like to swap in a "known good" rectifier to see if that may be the issue. Thanks in advance!----
