Easy solution right? Except avoid the top heavy, underpowered vibe machine :)
Sent from my iPhoneSo what I am hearing is buy the street touring tires and just get a Tiger, GS, Vstrom or KLR for all my off road needs.--

I wanted to get some opinions on what would makes a good tire choice.I have two ways to do this. I can get some dual sport type tires and have the ability to do some dirt roads, perhaps brave all the dirt by Deckers. The other option is to get some good road turing tires and go the distance.First the road touring tires I found:
- Metzeler ME888 Triple 8 Marathon Tires.
- Great reviews
- Decent prices
- Good tread life
- Michelin Commander II
- Great reviews
- Even better on price
- Great tread life
- Bridgestone Battlax
- 5/5 star reviews
- Good on price
- Can't really find a bad word about them.
- Other? I am sure you guys have some preferences.
For the more dual sport type tires:
- Michelin Anakee 3
- They look to have a nice tread pattern that will do well in off road but not be noisy on the highway.
- Great wet traction
- Good tread life
- Ok on price
- Bridgestone Trail Wing 101 ( What I have now)
- I have found them to be noisy on the highway
- More than the Anakee on price.
- Other? I could always go crazy like Justin and put some big dirt tires, but thats already been done!
I am kind of favoring the ME888's or the Anakee's but it's a tough choice. Also how much life do all you guys get out of a set of tires? Since I got the bike used, and there are no records of when the tires were changed from stock so I don't really know how many miles are on these ones. I do know I put about 4.5K on them myself last year so they are not worn out yet, but I wouldn't mind replacing them early if I find the right replacements.I talked to the guys at Erico as well as Performance Cycle and both have pretty good prices on everything and have decent install prices. I don't have the garage space to change them out myself so a good recommendation on install is always welcome as well.I look forward to any and all comments you guys have!Tavis
