--Actually, iconic is a good adjective for the SV-650.
When I jumped back into motorcycling in 2002-2003 and subscribed to a number of motorcycle magazines, every article about this bike year after year was very laudatory. It was and is a great bike for novices, but it also was and is a great, fun bike for experienced riders. One of the national/regional road-racing associations (not AMA) even had a class just for the SV-650.
I recall that, when Suzuki ended the model and came out with the "Gladius," the magazines were puzzled as to the decision.
That said, I would buy this bike from Brian's wife--but my garage literally "runneth over" at the present . . .
