The Colorado Wellness for Girls is a comprehensive wellness-based day treatment program for adolescent girls who are struggling with the internal and external pressures of everyday life. Fully licensed by the state, we offer a highly effective program where girls can heal and recover from issues related to depression and anxiety. Our center offers a unique alternative and relief for families whose daughters do not require inpatient hospitalization or residential treatment. Our mission is to provide a highly effective program that helps increase girls' total well-being.

Therapist Wanted! 

We are looking for a qualified therapist to join our team.

The Colorado Wellness Center for Girls is looking to fill the position for a licensed mental health professional to help support the needs of our families and girls. The Wellness Center is a comprehensive wellness based day treatment center for adolescent girls between the ages of 12-21 


Job responsibilities for this position include: providing direct therapeutic intervention and daily check in's with our students as requested/needed, providing weekly family therapy, helping support the daily operations of our program (including program flow and clinical insight), conducting pre-assessments with potential students and their families (as well as full assessments with each of our students), attending weekly staff meetings, processing clinical operations and interventions with other staff, providing group therapy, proper, detailed and timely documentation and overseeing other program operations as needed.

Job Qualifications include:

  1. Full licensure as a mental health professional (LCSW, LPC, Ph.D., Psy.D. or LMFT).
  2. Interest and experience in  wellness based interventions
  3. Proficiency in either DBT, CBT or EMDR interventions
  4. Strong ability to understand program dynamics
  5. A strong willingness to help the Center become more involved in the mental health community (marketing opportunities)
  6. A strong desire to provide both clinical interventions and engagement in down-time with our students
  7. Collaboration with staff and program efforts
  8. An appreciation of attachment theory, interpersonal relations, interventions based on warmth and affection and awareness of implementing "soft-based" approaches to help girls increase their total well-being.
  9. An understanding of the importance of family dynamics and the critical role it plays in the lives of adolescent girls
  10. Experience in working with adolescent girls

This is a part-time position. Hours are based on the Jefferson County School calendar and include Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays 8:00 a.m-4:00 p.m.  Employee hours will not be offered during school holidays, breaks or summer vacation. Based on fall enrollment, this position would begin the second week of August, 2015.

Jicama Coleslaw
½ jicama, peeled and sliced into thin match
sticks
½ small green cabbage, sliced into thin shreds
1 large carrot, grated
¼ cup cilantro, chopped
Dressing
2 heaping tablespoons safflower mayo
1 teaspoon Dejon mustard
½ tablespoon honey or maple syrup
½ teaspoon chili powder
½ teaspoon cumin
Juice of ½ lime
Salt to taste
Directions
Mix veggies in a large bowl. Mix dressing in a
small bowl and taste test. Adjust with honey (or
syrup), lime, and salt until your taste buds
approve. Add dressing to veggies and mix to
coat well. Enjoy.
