I'm actually in Bluffton and go to Beaufort regularly. Did not know about the house though.

Your around Hilton Head Norm? I spent many a days in Beaufort SC and have played golf on Hilton Head Island a few times. There are some great Civil War battery and large gun placement ruins around there, for MC ride destinations. A lot spray painted with graffiti, and dark, so bring a flashlight. Ask some locals, they will point you in the right direction. And if you have never been, the house where they filmed The Big Chill and The Great Santini is in Beaufort.

As an aside, I lead a group from my local club in Hilton Head to Barber in Birmingham last week (950 miles round-trip). One of the riders was well north of 75 (years, not MPH) and is the anti-Dan, that is he's still riding his 1978 BMW that he bought new and rolled over the 800,000 mile mark while on the way back. Yes 800,000 that's not a typo. He's changed tires 235 times and had the engine rebuilt twice. He's hoping to make the million mile mark before he has to move to a trike! Now that's a life well lived.
