[The Network] Accessing Resources for Ex-convicts

HI Everyone,

I'm excited to join the Network!

I am a contractor working with Bayaud Enterprises's Homeless Advisory Council and a brand new alliance called People Rising Against Poverty. A major component of our outreach work is our Speaker's Bureau, where front line staff and most affected individuals share their experiences with poverty, resources for people experiencing poverty, and relevant political advocacy aiming for dignity for all people.

For an upcoming speaking event, we are looking for resources for those who are just re-entering society from jail or prison. Essentially, what I am looking for are resources regarding specific laws and regulations across the seven county Metro Area that prevent or hinder access to the following resources for people convicted of crimes: SNAP, TANF, MEDICAID,  Housing Assistance, as well as employment opportunities. I am aware of federal laws and regulations, but unsure of how the different counties handle this.

Any information, where to look, or who to talk to in this regard would be incredibly helpful!

Thank you!
Stephen Polk
