Subject: CPIN: EVENT--Open House by the Denver Islamic Society
Dear Service Providers,
I had the privilege of attending an Open House sponsored by the Denver Islamic Society (DIS) at the Masjid AnNur Mosque this past Saturday. It was such a beautiful event and a way that they are opening up their doors to allow people to come, learn about the beliefs of Islam, ask any questions that they might have, meet members of their diverse faith community, and break bread together with some very tasty food. They are planning on doing it every third Saturday of the month. I would love to arrange a group to go and I am more than willing to go to any of them every month if you would like some company. I left feeling better informed and very welcomed by their community. Please see the email below as well as the link from 9news for more information about the event.

Immigrant integration is a dynamic, two-way process in which newcomers and the receiving society work together to build secure, vibrant, and cohesive communities. As an intentional effort, integration engages and transforms all community members, reaping shared benefits and creating a new whole that is greater than the sum of its parts (Grantmakers Concerned with Immigrants and Refugees).

Dear CARES Network,
Channel 9 News covered the recent open house sponsored by the Denver Islamic Society (DIS) at the Masjid AnNur this past Saturday. I found it to be a really wonderful opportunity for our larger community to learn about the Islamic faith and have a personal interaction with our diverse Muslim neighbors and community members.
These kinds of activities are particularly important as "islamaphobia" spreads.
The DIS is planning on holding open houses on the 3rd Saturdays of the month on a regular basis. Look here for more updates.
Please rally your community to participate, learn and increase understanding. It's critical we combat the fear mongering and demagoguery with opportunities for people to interact with each other in a personal and productive manner. This is a great example of building bridging social capital.
