We had a great start-up of the Red Rock Canyon, White Acres and Section 16 Master and Management Plans public process and are looking forward to additional meetings over the coming months. (If you missed the meeting, you can find the PowerPoint presentation and responses to a small group discussion about restoring the upper pond on the City of Colorado Springs' web site at www.springsgov.com/RRC

It's come to our attention that during the process "time-out" some folks came up with new ideas related to the open space properties that they would like to share with everyone. In response, we have amended the agenda for our next meeting on Aug. 22 in order to encourage that exchange of new ideas.

During an "Open Mic" session that night, you all will be encouraged to share any new thoughts you have related to the open space properties. So that we can accommodate everyone who would like to speak, the presentations will be structured into time slots of up to 10 minutes, recognizing that the time may have to be shortened, depending on the number of presenters. Feel free to bring along materials to illustrate your points—we'll have an easels available for maps and a laptop/PowerPoint projector ready for those who bring information on a flash drive. Once all new ideas are presented, we'll ask for and document responses from all workshop participants.

To allow the planning team time to integrate the additional input we receive at the Aug. 22 meeting, we have slightly modified the remaining public meetings schedule.  Please mark the dates on your calendar now.  The meetings are scheduled for Wednesdays, with the exception of the September 11 meeting.
