Subject: CPIN: CONFERENCE/TRAINING--Colorado Immigrant Rights Coalition Statewide Assembly

Dear Service Providers,

The Colorado Immigrant Rights Coalition is having their Statewide Assembly on September 15th at the Auraria Campus.

Last year, we were able to take community members from most of the refugee communities so that they could build connections with the Latino Organizations and learn some valuable skills.  Last year, Joe Wismann-Horther, from Colorado Refugee Services Program, and I presented about how to reach out to communities that haven't traditionally been a part of the movement.  Many of those refugee representatives also told their stories and really moved the crowd.  The refugee and other non-traditional population representatives reported that they felt more connected and felt like they learned skills on fundraising, community organizing, and other skill sets.  They also realized that there were others who were working towards improving their communities and they weren't the only ones with that burden.

We would like to reach out to all populations to see if they would be able to attend this year.  It is in the Denver Metro Area so it will be easier for people to attend this year.  Here is the link to sign up for the assembly. The price is $50 per person.

Please be sure to pass these along to your colleagues as well as the communities that you work with.  It is a great chance for leadership development.

Thanks for all that you do!

Immigrant integration is a dynamic, two-way process in which newcomers and the receiving society work together to build secure, vibrant, and cohesive communities. As an intentional effort, integration engages and transforms all community members, reaping shared benefits and creating a new whole that is greater than the sum of its parts (Grantmakers Concerned with Immigrants and Refugees).
