Denver’s preservation ordinance has been an effective tool for more than 45 years, helping to protect and promote historic places in our community and preserve the vital character that makes Denver unique and vibrant.

In October, City Council will consider proposed changes to the ordinance, first adopted in 1967.  Some of the proposed changes include a differential fee structure for applications without owner consent, requiring that applicants be residents of Denver, adding integrity and/or context considerations to the Landmark Preservation Commission’s deliberations, and better integrating historic review processes as part of General Development Plans.

Come learn more about these proposals, ask questions or express concerns.  The meeting will include a presentation by staff from Community Planning & Development, comments from Historic Denver, as well as time for discussion and Q & A.

To help us plan please let us know if you hope to attend by e-mailing info@historicdenver.org or calling (303) 534-5288 ext. 7.
