[emrat:6057] Re: Baja

Deb,

Went down to Ensenada and then across to San Felipe last January with some guys who have been doing this general route for years.  In/out of Mexico was easy with Passport, but you do need to have an added Mexico insurance policy which you can get readily on-line, copy attached as an example.  We stayed at the Hotel Casa Del Sol in Ensenada, biker friendly place that had us park together in covered parking and taped off the area for better security, nice touch.  Motel El Capitan Mexicali in San Felipe was reasonable.  All were on big or baby GSs, though almost all paved In Mexico.  Some dirt in Death Valley.  Trucked to Mesquite them picked up the locals in Ridgeway, so some good riding in California going and coming.  Fire away with any questions and I'll help if I can.

Hey gang,

Have any of you ever traveled into Mexico?  We've been invited to go with some friends to ride to Baja.  Any advice on places to stay, places to see, etc?  Any "interesting" rules about crossing the border?  Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks and have a BLESSED Christmas!

Deb
