I will be going to Sturgis with a friend on Saturday (8/1/2015) and leaving Tuesday (8/4/2015) and taking Tuesday/ Wednesday to come back through SD and WY.

Norm Wright and I announced our riding plans for Sturgis at the last EMRAT Meeting.

 

I'm planning on heading up on Thursday, July 30^th, and tentatively returning on Monday, August 3^rd.

 

Norm and Vince Lane (who rides a BMW now and has gone every year with Norm since 2008) are planning on riding up on Friday, July 31^st.

 

In the attached 2008 photo, you will see "Stormin' Norm" Wright, "Chainsaw Jim" Maharis, Denise Wendl, and Vince on the far right.  Peaking over the seat is "Librarian Linda," Denise's friend, whose last name I've forgotten . . . .

 

We will be staying at the Creekside Campground.

Or, perhaps some of you (Jay Clawson, needing more photos for his forthcoming "Sturgis Biker Bar Babes" book) may just meet us up there.  Just let Norm and me know.

 

I first went up by myself in 2005.  Over the years, I've accumulated some files about logistics and rides, etc., which I can send you directly if you are interested but have never attended the Rally.

 

And—not to be morbid, but I was once a police reporter in Colorado Springs many years ago—I have accumulated for each year a file that has a compilation of stories from The Rapid City Journal about accidents, crime, etc.  I probably will not share such files with anyone who has not yet ridden to Sturgis . . . . otherwise, you might get the wrong idea about the Black Hills Motorcycle Rally!

 

This will be the 75^th Rally, the Silver Jubilee.  You can always wait and ride to the 100^th Rally, I guess.
