I was at Dan Pilcher's briefly last evening to see Izzy's Trophy reborn. She's a beauty and ready for her new life, it seems. And there was Dan, Zen-like in his garage, totally in the moment among five (of his ten or so) of his charges, each with special meaning for him. It's more than a passion (which it certainly is) and borders on the spiritual. Swami Dan and his motorcycle harem.
"A swami is a monk, one who has set aside all of the limited, worldly pursuits, so as to devote full time effort to the direct experience of the highest spiritual realization, and to the service of others along those lines. Renunciation is not anti-world, in any sense of the world being a bad place. Rather, it is a matter of priorities about how one will spend his or her time, the twenty-four hours in a day, and the seven days in a week."
So I toss it out to the group. Swami Dan.
On a personal note, I'm sorry to miss the ride to Montrose this weekend. It's a great ride and event. Hope everyone who attends has a rockin' good...and safe...weekend. I'll be in Sacramento for work.

P.S. I sold my 2010 Speedmaster after just a few days on Craigslist. I'm shopping....see you on something new in Taos.
