Subject: AspenWSI announces new development in Communities that Work Partnership

AspenWSI just announced an exciting new development in the Communities that Work Partnership! Seven regional site teams will join the partnership to pursue job-driven talent development strategies, promoting economic growth and opportunity in their regions.

The Communities that Work Partnership, launched in April 2015, is a joint project of AspenWSI and the Economic Development Administration (EDA) of the U.S. Department of Commerce.

The seven regional site teams are comprised of leaders in industry, government, education, and workforce and economic development. The teams are based across the nation, in regions around Buffalo and Niagara Falls, New York; Phoenix, Arizona; Houston, Texas; New York City; northwest Georgia; Washington, DC; and San Francisco Bay Area.

The seven regional site teams will engage in an intensive, 15-month learning exchange. They will look for ways to incorporate workforce development initiatives into regional economic growth strategies. And while it is still early, we are buzzing at the prospect of their outcomes, which will surely guide similar strategies in communities across America.

To learn more, we invite you to view the Press Release and read our highlight in the EDA July newsletter. As always, let us know what you think by replying to this email or tweeting with #CommunitiesThatWork.

Best,

Maureen Conway

Vice President of the Aspen Institute

Executive Director of the Economic Opportunities Program

The Communities that Work Partnership is made possible by the generous support of the Economic Development Administration of the U.S. Department of Commerce and by the Charles Stewart Mott Foundation.
