Re: [emrat:1765] Gas Stations to Taos

You shouldn't have any issues for gas.  If you join us on Friday, I am definitely conscious of fuel on the Thruxton.  Should have the planned route later today or tomorrow.

Chris,

The gas situation along the 285 route to Taos is generally good.  Take a look at the route on Mapquest and use the services tab.  It will show you service stations.  The two "longest" stretches without a station are between Salida and Alamosa and then between Antonito and Taos.  I use "longest" in parenthesis, because those are only stretches in the 60-ish miles.  Top off in Salida, Alamosa and Antonito and you won't have any issues.

Not sure if this link will work with the service stations still showing, but you will see that other than the couple of "longer" stretches, service stations are fairly frequent along that route.  http://mapq.st/PVyhMF

Others will likely have some other suggestions.  I hope you decide to make it!  It is a good time, and Sara and I are looking forward to the trip again this year!

- Sean

Before Saturday, I was at about 50% confidence that I would head to Taos. After running into Sean at MotoGear along with a guy who just bought a 2011 Bonnie, I'm now at 75% :) -- just need to clear up a few work items.

Question -- assuming I take the 285-64 route -- not sure what the gas situation is like. Anyone recommend good stops along the route so that my Speedmaster won't run out of gas?

Thanks,
