SYNERGY

Synergy provides a highly specialized treatment continuum for adolescents with co-occuring substance use, mental health, and conduct/delinquency disorders. Our psychiatric services including medication management are provided by Synergy psychiatrists with expertise in treating adolescents with addictions and trauma. Our clincial team of therapists and drug and alcohol counselors provide evidence based treatments, and trauma informed services that are integrated throughout our programs. These include MI, trauma screening and assessment, evaluation for PTSD, cognitive behavior therapy, Seeking Safety, gender specific treatment, EMDR, and tension relaxation exercises. All of our levels of care include: psychiatric services: urine monitoring; and pregnancy, and infectious disease screens.

SYNERGY IS CURRENTLY ACCEPTING REFERRALS FOR ENROLLMENT IN ALL OF OUR PROGRAMS. ADDITIONALLY, SYNERGY OFFERS FREE PRE-SCREENS TO IDENTIFY APPROPRIATENESS OF TREATMENT IN OUR CONTINUUM AND LEVEL OF CARE.

Assertive Continuing Care (ACC)

Individual counseling, treatment groups, family therapy & psychiatric services.

Did You Know...?

Synergy's residential and day treatment programs both offer credit recovery to assist high school students in getting caught up in school if they have fallen behind.

Synergy is the adolescent component of a larger treatment agency ARTS-Addiction Research and Treatment Services, which offers several adult programs including The Haven and Peer I. Therefore, in our continuum we can offer services for adults in our clients' families. Additionally, ARTS is affiliated with:

1) Division of Substance Dependence

2) Department of Psychiatry

3) University of Colorado Denver, School of Medicine

Drug Facts...

Prescription drug use including oxycontin and fentanyl has risen dramatically among adolescents. Teens are switching from smoking oxycontin to cheaper heroin and often also IV use.

Colorado teens admitted to treatment for marijuana abuse and dependence frequently report using diverted medical marijuana.

Co-occuring disorders are most often the rule, not the exception, in adolescents with substance use disorders.

Important Update

Synthetic cannabinoids are showing up more and more in youth across the state and country. This synthetic marijuana is made in labs and is sold under disguise as incense or other not for human consumption products. Many of these items are becoming illegal which in turn is making a black market for the drugs. Synergy does test for this synthetic drug, which can have devastating consequences, including: confusion, aggression, violence, illness and now reportedly death for the often unaware adolescent consumer. Other synthetic designer drugs are also appearing as different products, such as bath salts.

Reminder- Synergy does offer a food bank for our clients in need. Ask any staff member for details.

We are also very resourceful in assisting our clients in getting their prescribed medications regardless of their ability to pay.
