Subject: The dawn of a new day...

Dearest CIRC members, partners and supporters:
The dawn of a bright new and hopeful day in Colorado is within sight. I am writing to ask for your help to ensure we make it there.
What unites us across this beautiful, colorful state is our unified vision for Colorado: that all persons—regardless of immigration status, race/ethnicity, color, national origin, gender, gender identity/expression, sexual orientation, disability, marital status, age, religion, military service, language—can live with trust, dignity and respect, and enjoy equal access to fair and just work, housing, health care, education, and the opportunity to be united with family members.
For many years, the most significant barriers to our collective vision have been harsh, unjust immigration enforcement policies that inflict fear, mistrust, detention, and family separation. The most destructive and infamous of these policies has been Colorado's very own "show me your papers" law: SB 90.
S ince 2006, it has been a CIRC coalition priority to restore trust and dignity in our communities by repealing the devastating state law that has led to countless deportations and testimonies of abuse.
On Monday, April 8, the Colorado Senate will take a final vote on the CIRC-member led bill, the Community and Law Enforcement Trust Act, to repeal SB 90 once and for all.
If approved by the Senate, the Trust Act will go to the Governor's desk for signature...and we will be one giant step closer to our vision of a just, dignified and welcoming Colorado.
Please take three important actions to ensure the Trust Act makes it to the Governor's desk!
1. Call or email your state Senator TODAY, and ask your friends, neighbors, colleagues and members, to contact their Senators. To find your state Senator click here.
Here is what you could say when you call/email:
"I'm a constituent in your district (say your TOWN and ZIP-CODE) and I am asking you to please vote YES on the Community and Law Enforcement Trust Act (HB-1258) with no amendments, because I believe that trust between the immigrant community and local police will make our communities stronger and more safe."

2. Please JOIN US at the state Capitol on Monday morning, April 8 to show our visible support and momentum for the Trust Act. We will meet at 10am in the Capitol basement cafeteria. Please call 919-408-1449 or 720-290-1125 to locate the CIRC delegation.
If you cannot attend the Senate vote in person, please watch or listen online HERE
3. Please make a financial donation HERE to support the costs of CIRC members and leaders who are traveling far distances into Denver to speak to their legislators and attend the Senate vote Monday.
Thank you in advance for your tremendous support and action today, and over the years.
The dawn of a new and hopeful day is upon us. I look forward to seeing you there.
In solidarity and victory,

Julien Ross
