Hi Friends,

 

I just wanted to let you know that we have extended the deadline for our Cadre of Volunteer Training.  Many times families are confused and not sure what to expect when communicating with their child’s school.  The Cadre of Volunteer training will train parents and professionals on their rights under the Individuals with Disability Education Act (IDEA), show them how to write effective Individualized Educational Plan (IEP) and provide communication and advocacy training.

 

I have also attached a flyer for fathers who have children receiving special education services/have a disability.  Many times fathers don’t have the support they need.  We are providing a safe environment for men to get together and share and be supportive.  The event was schedule for April 9 ^th but we had to reschedule because of the snow blizzard to Tuesday, May 7th.
