Re: [emrat:3804] Appealing to the collective wisdom: Heated gear questions?

Martin,

My experience with heated motorcycle gear is that each manufacture uses different connectors. For example, my first headed vest was from Widder which used a flat connector and my new Gerbing liner connector is round.

My recommendation is to go with the manufacture cables when it comes to heated gear.

I know that performance cycle cares the Gerbing Euro power adapter because that is where I purchase mine. If your just looking for a Gerbing cable which will wire directly to you batter I have several in the garage you can have.

I was going to post this on a message board but I figured there's almost certainly enough collective wisdom in our club to answer my question.

Back in "the day", there were only one or two companies making heated gear, Gerbing and Aerostich (I think)  I got my Gerbing heated liner a few years ago.

Now there are a bunch of companies making the stuff.  My question is:  Do they all pretty much use the same connectors and adapters?  Reason I ask is that I need a cable to connect my Euro power adapter (I guess also called a "Powerlet?") to my heated liner, and I can see some on BikeBandit that seem like they will work but they are not a Gerbing product.  I'm reluctant to order unless I know it will work (I have a $10 gift card from Bike Bandit which is why that is my first choice.)  Looks like the brands sold at Bike Bandit are Symtec, Gears, Alpinestars and Tourmaster.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

(Also, if anybody out there has an extra adapter or controller they want to sell, shoot me an email, maybe we can work a deal?)
