If you get the Triumph OEM ones "free" that's one thing. I wouldn't pay for them however, unless it's the new Aluminum boxes, which are a rebranded Givvi Outback.
The plastic clips on the OEM panniers can break very easily, as I found out on my Tiger 800XC. When they do, there is no way to remount/attach them. Luckily I had a couple of the big Rok Straps and no passenger, so I was able to tie it down to the pillion seat and get it home. If both broke, you have a passenger, or no Rok straps, it could ruin your day.
Worse yet is that there is no way to repair or rebuild them as you can with the BMW Verio bags. I had to fork out $487 to replace the pannier. After replacing it, I put them both on a shelf on my garage and got something else to use until the day I sold the bike.
When I traded the 800XC in on an Explorer, they tried to offer me the OEM panniers at 1/2 price. I declined and instead put the money $490 they would have cost at the discount toward the Touratech Zega Pro's.
If you are getting them for "free" as an incentive, you have little risk in taking them. Otherwise from my experience and from that of my Sprint ST, which uses a similar design, I would recommend avoiding them.
My Sprint was knocked over in a parking lot, breaking the plastic clips on both panniers. I had to leave them both behind and retrieve them at a later date.

--Hello gang,I'm shopping for luggage for the Tiger 800 and I know there are several of you out there who already have gone through this exercise. What did you decide on and why? I probably won't ever test this equipment on the road to Zanzibar, but I do want something that's reliable, waterproof and easy to live with. Even if you're not a Tiger rider, if you've shopped hard side luggage, I'd be grateful for your insights. Thanks,Brian W
