We'll use this time to review the scope as approved in our June 18th District Board Meeting and share the latest plans for implementation. There will be plenty of time set aside for public questions and input. Please see attached for the approved Project Scope and Monthly Meeting Agenda.
Meeting updates // schedule changes
- Long Term Vision Group: meetings will now be held every other Monday with the first one on Monday, August 6th at 11:00AM at Redline. Make sure to see the attached Project Scope for all the latest from both of these groups!!
- Triangle Parks Working Group: these meetings will be held every other week moving forward, as well. The first meeting is this coming Monday, July 30th at 10:00AM at the offices of McGeady Sisneros, P.C., 450 E. 17th Avenue, Suite 400.
As many of you know, our earlier efforts focused on Triangle Parks, and in particular, Eddie Maestas Park. Over the last several months the dialogue has expanded greatly, and now encompasses much of the public realm throughout nearby neighborhoods and the surrounding community. Those of you with interest in the revitalization efforts at Triangle Parks, the 24th Street Corridor, Sonny Lawson Park and Benedict Fountain Park, are invited to join in and participate in this ongoing conversation. All newly interested stakeholders can refer to the attached Project Process Sheet to learn more about how they can participate.
Recently, leaders of the Community Coordinating District joined a Denver delegation in NYC for the City Parks Alliance International Conference "Greater and Greener: Re-Imagining City Parks for 21st Century Cities". Our city had over 20 people in attendance!!! Mayor Bloomberg kicked off the event and a 5 day agenda commenced showcasing best practices in urban parks development and management. Many brought what they learned back to Denver and all of Colorado to be utilized as helpful tools to open and expand dialogue about the platform City Parks can provide for cultural, community and economic development for 21st Century Cities. How cool?!
