Re: 2013/2014 High Mileage Challenge

I know what you mean Bob. Annette used her vacation time taking care of her mom after she broke her hip so we couldn't take a long moto-vacation this summer like we have in the past. More riding was just not in the cards this year, but I did okay I suppose. I did get to ride the Three Flags Classic this year, but otherwise, no long vacation trip.

I looked at the odometer readings I took last January and what I ended with today and it was:

FJR     42,514 to 51,040 for 8,526

BMW   23,934 to 32,432 for 8,498

VFR    3,375 to 6,659 for 3,284

Guzzi  9,213 to 10,670 for 1,457

Added all up, it seems I rode 21,765 this year. Obviously I don't ride the last two very much. It's sad really, they're both real great motorcycles. I hope I get to put on some real miles in 2014. No more lolly gagging around!

I've ridden in snow by accident, never by choice. Although I'd love to be a bad-ass and ride today - I'm a little leery of more broken bones when they can be avoided :)
Sean and I will see you all at the Rockyard in our car today!

Yeah, its just that every time we resign ourselves to taking the cage, the sun pops back out. That and it has still barely even flurried here. Hmmmm hahaha

    All,

Here is the photo of the odometer on my tiger has of today. As you can see, at this time I have 27,838 miles on the clock and I started 2013 with 14,587. I was hoping for more miles last year. However, weather and work get in the way. Denise and I are in the planning stage for 2014. If all goes well I should exceed 2013 mileage.

My official totals for 2013: Beginning Mileage: 14,587 / Ending Mileage: 27,838 / Year End Total Mileage 2013: 13,251

Mine became a mess, because I traded in the Tiger 800 XC for an Explorer, the first Explorer was replaced by the factory for a second one, and I put about half the miles on the Street Triple. Officially I can't show much of anything, unofficially it was about 18K

I have had a few folks report in that their roads are covered. It looks as though maybe we are going to get hit late.
