Re: [emrat:3545] Looking at a 2009 Bonneville tomorrow, could use some expert advice.

Asking price doesn't seem unreasonable to me at $5,999.99.   Talk to Noel or Ben.  I am think the can come down lower.

KBB retail value for a 2009 in Excellent condition is  $6,565, trade in is $4,525.  NADA average retail price is $6,215, Low is $4,725.   I am thinking you should be able to get it for $5,500.00.

According to KBB, average miles on a crotch rocket is about 3,000 miles per year. Average miles for a sport tourer or tourer 5,000 to 6,000 miles per year average.  I would say a bike like the Bonnie falls somewhere in between crotch rocket and tourer for average miles and would probably fall into about 4,000 miles a year.  So I still say it isn't high mileage, but only MHO. :)

Not high in the terms of the bike's lifespan, but 3,000 a year is not low either. What does he want for it? Given the mileage and the time if year, I certainly wouldn't come within a grand of KBB.

Hello to all, this is my first time posting in here. I have only gone to one of your meetups, but that was mostly due to not having a bike.

Tomorrow I am going to go test drive and possible buy a 2009 Triumph Bonneville t100 and wanted to ask a few questions to those in the know. It is at Foothills triumph / bmw in Lakewood. They have all the service records for the bike, and it looks great.

First real question: It has 16K miles on it. That doesn't sound like a lot to me, but I have never bought a used bike before. Is that a lot, and is there anything I should look out for?

What is your experiences with Foothills? They seem great, but that of course is from only one experience talking to a sales guy about a bike I already really like.

Here is a link to some quick phone pics I took while looking at it.

This is going to be my first real bike and am quite excited about it, but I wanted to get the real deal from people who ride these already. Thanks in advance for any advice you guys give me.
