I agree with some of the other comments...what kind of mileage are we talking about?  What constitutes a "failure" in this study?  BMW, Triumph and other European bikes tend to have more "cutting edge" options in the form of advanced technology (articulating headlights; traction control etc.).  Are failures considered complete breakdown (resulting in being stranded) or nuisances (computer glitches etc.). It would be interesting to know more details on this study.
