Re: [emrat:7568] Re: Back home

Meet a young man on the Needles Highway from Massachusetts.  He rode the entire way with his buddies.  He was riding an 07 Bonnie but didn't mention what his friends were riding but that Buffalo Chip had flooded out and he was able to ride out with no problem while his buddies were stuck.   He said he just wanted to ride while the buddies were going to Sturgis to party.

With AL Milker, that makes a dozen Rats.  We saw a number of Triumphs including a cool Rocket trike but you do have to look hard.

I got back home yesterday after a week in Custer (a bit south of sturgis). I did see a few triumphs, probably 3 or 4 bonnevilles, a triple (not sure if it was a speed or street), and a few speedmasters or americas (just saw the triumph logo on the tanks). I took a 'detour' through north dakota for a week as well, and rode along a t100 on i94 from canada for an hour or so. It was my first time to sturgis, and while I knew most of the bikes would be HDs, I didn't realize it would be so much of a treat to see something *other* than a HD. The police officer in custer that stopped me for 1-5 over the limit also agreed it was nice to see a non HD, and was admiring my bonneville ;-)

Al, that would have been 'English Steve" Farrow-Reid, Denise Wendl, and me . . .

I do recall the three bikes, but I was naturally focused on the turn!

Glad to hear you also survived Sturgis!

I was headed north on the 3rd and saw 3 Triumphs turning south in Scottsbluff towards Kimball about 2ish.  If you saw a red 01 Sprint ST and 2 Harleys (one broken down) that was me.

I'm probably the last to arrive home. No incidents. Happy to have been part of an epic and historic event.
