EarthLinks is excited to announce that the second annual Holiday Open House, a community holiday celebration and "buy local" gift market, will be held on Saturday, December 8th from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM in their craft workshop at 28th and Larimer. EarthLinks staff and board members will be on hand to visit over coffee, tea, and holiday snacks, and participants from the EarthLinks Workshop Program – adults who are currently or formerly homeless – look forward to this opportunity to present their beautiful, Earth-friendly craft products for purchase as one of a kind holiday gifts with a mission. Live music will be provided by local musician Mary Ellen Garrett from noon to 1pm.
EarthLinks, a nonprofit organization founded in 1996, provides a work program for people who are homeless and low-income to learn skills and create Earth-friendly products that sustain the people and the planet. Through organic gardening, craft production, day trips into nature, and earning a modest income, participants gain a closer relationship with nature and a caring community that provides support on the road to wholeness.
