38th Street Underpass to Close Overnight Thursday, Jan. 24 Bridge Girders installation for East Rail Line requires closure between Blake Street and Brighton Boulevard
Denver, Jan. 23, 2013 – The Regional Transportation District's (RTD) contractor for the East Rail Line, Denver Transit Partners (DTP), will close 38th Street between Blake Street and Brighton Boulevard beginning Thursday, Jan. 24, 2013, at 10:30 p.m. and reopening Friday, Jan. 25, 2013, at 5 a.m. The closure is to provide for public safety during placement of girders for a new commuter rail bridge.
Additionally, work on the 38th Street bridge will continue for 30 days with potential lane or minor road closures throughout.
This work is part of the construction of the East Rail Line between downtown Denver and Denver International Airport. The project is part of the RTD's FasTracks program.
The public is asked to comply with instructions on posted construction signs and to use alternate routes to bypass the area.
