Re: [emrat:3552] Looking at a 2009 Bonneville tomorrow, could use some expert...

It was mentioned previously but also confirm the 12K service was done which includes a valve adjustment. Also, see if the brake fluid has been changed out as this is a 2 year scheduled item. See when the tires were last replaced...with 16K they should have been replaced, but find out when and if it's been a while, check for cracking or splitting which can occur here in our dry climate. Other than that looking over the service records to confirm oil changes and the obvious, taking it for a test ride and see how it runs...good luck and report back with what you decide.

Hello to all, this is my first time posting in here. I have only gone to one of your meetups, but that was mostly due to not having a bike.

Tomorrow I am going to go test drive and possible buy a 2009 Triumph Bonneville t100 and wanted to ask a few questions to those in the know. It is at Foothills triumph / bmw in Lakewood. They have all the service records for the bike, and it looks great.

First real question: It has 16K miles on it. That doesn't sound like a lot to me, but I have never bought a used bike before. Is that a lot, and is there anything I should look out for?

What is your experiences with Foothills? They seem great, but that of course is from only one experience talking to a sales guy about a bike I already really like.

Here is a link to some quick phone pics I took while looking at it.

This is going to be my first real bike and am quite excited about it, but I wanted to get the real deal from people who ride these already. Thanks in advance for any advice you guys give me.
