This group is a great community resource for understanding and advocating for Spec. Ed children, and for finding resources for families. The volunteer training is a great opportunity, especially for parents who need to advocate for their own children. Please contact Denver Metro Community Parent Resource Center at the information below for more information.

Subject: Cadre of Trained Volunteers
I wanted to briefly share about my no cost training for families who have children with disabilities or professionals who work with children who have disabilities called the Cadre of Volunteers Training This training goes over the following: (1) writing a successful IEP, (2) train on special education law in language that is understandable so you will know what students with disability or entitled to and (3) train on effective communication and advocacy. I think this would be a wonderful opportunity to help you and others as well. The flyer about the training is attached. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions. Thanks.
