Re: [emrat:4341] Looking for some good boots

TCX make some nice boots as well.  I have had several folks who are MSF instructors recommend them for their durability.  Apparently the repetition of the instruction on the course weekend after weekend, is hell on boots.  Last guy I was talking to told me that they ones he owns have outlasted his Sidi and Dianese.  I am thinking about taking a look at them for my next boot.

I bought some Forma boots from the now defunct Motogear Outlet in Arvada. They may have other US outlets 9Italian boots)  To me the issue is comfort, reliability and price.  Unless the pockets are deep there are trade offs.  A key of course is the soles must be a rubber compound not leather.  I have used engineer boots and touring boots.  I prefer touring boots with zippers and Velcro for ease of getting them off your feet.  One needs to consider comfort from a walking standpoint too unless you plan on changing shoes if you are on a rally or trip.

You might want to check out the First Fear Kili Hi and also the Kili Lo boots. They are water proof and run about $110 to $120 - if you like the style.

Since we have been talking about gear, I wanted to ask you guys about some good boots.

I want some decent leather boots, preferably waterproof.

I wanted to know what everyone looks for in good boots.
       Thanks in advance.
