[CPN] Denver Public Schools Opens a World of Opportunity with New Tools and Events to Help Families Research School Options

My name is Chyrise Harris and you may remember that I work in the Office of Communications for Denver Public Schools (DPS). Denver Public Schools recently kicked off the open enrollment period for the 2013-2014 school year with a well-attended Middle and High School Expo. To help families do more in-depth exploration of the schools they may be interested in, DPS is hosting Regional School Expos across Denver on December 8, 2012. Please see details below and feel free to share the information in your newsletter, on your website and or at association meetings.

Thank you for your consideration, and please don't hesitate to contact me if you need additional information

Regional School Expos Across Denver – December 8, 2012 – 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Denver Public Schools offer open enrollment through a new, streamlined process called SchoolChoice. Throughout the enrollment period (December-January), DPS is hosting a wide range of school and community events, in multiple languages, to help families do more in-depth exploration of the schools they’re interested in for the 2013-2014 school year. The Regional School Expos will feature neighborhood elementary, middle and high schools and give families the opportunity to visit with school leaders as well as learn more about the enrollment process. All Expos will be held on Saturday, December 8, 2012 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.  See details below for attending an Expo near you.

·         Far Northeast Denver – Evie Dennis Campus, 4800 Telluride St.

·         Near Northeast Denver – Bruce Randolph, 3955 Steele St.

·         Northwest Denver – North High School, 2960 N. Speer Blvd.

·         Southeast Denver – South High School, 1700 E. Louisiana Ave.

·         Southwest Denver – Kepner Middle School, 911 S. Hazel Court

SchoolMatch
In addition to the Expos, families are encouraged to use SchoolMatch, a website created to help families find the school that best meets the needs of their students. SchoolMatch, http://schoolmatch.dpsk12.org/,  allows families to find their neighborhood, attendance-area school and additional programs and areas of academic focus.

For more information on Regional Expos, SchoolMatch and to access SchoolChoice Enrollment Guides, visit http://schoolchoice.dpsk12.org. Families may also call 720-423-3493 for additional information.
