[The Network] Denver Bridges Out of Poverty for Institutions

Do you work for a City & County of Denver institution, or other public institution that serves Denver residents, and would like to become more involved in poverty alleviation in our community?  Are you interested in finding out more about the issues of poverty and how Denver institutions and the community at large can address these issues?  Are you willing to be a positive force in your community and institution?

If so, then the Denver Bridges Out of Poverty Institutional Course is an unique way you can become involved with a strategic poverty alleviation effort in the Denver community!

The Denver Bridges Out of Poverty and Getting Ahead project will bring Denver low-income customers (through a Getting Ahead course), together with local non-profits, faith-based organizations, Denver stakeholders, leaders and businesses to incorporate Bridges Out of Poverty frameworks  (through Bridges Out of Poverty Community/Business/Institutional Trainings) into anti-poverty programs within the Denver community and its institutions.

City & County of Denver Institutional members that participate in the program will:

·         Receive 8 hours of Bridges Out of Poverty Training

·         Understand issues of poverty as they relate to your institution and partner institutions.

·         Identify community and institutional barriers to self-sufficiency and investigate how to overcome these barriers through policy and/or systematic changes.

·         Receive *free* professional development training, resources and networking opportunities with others working to alleviate poverty in Denver.

·         The opportunity to partner with other City & County of Denver Institutions, local non-profit and faith-based organizations, businesses and community leaders to improve the community & quality of life of Denver residents.
