Well, as you all know, I have inadvertently founded "Dan's Triumph Rescue Mission."

And now the Curtis Graves 2001 yellow Sprint RS and the 2003 955i black Daytona are now safely ensconced in my, uh, museum . . . . . .

So, perhaps one of you proud BMW owners in EMRAT can do the same thing for BMWs?

Whoever posted that is dreaming.  I wouldn't pay $2k for that.  In fact, It would be a stretch for me to pay $1500 for it.

Its funny what you can tell about a person's attitude from a CL ad.  That one says "I say I want money for this bike but I don't even care enough to get it out of the garage for a decent picture."  I'm guessing he was about as lackadaisical when it came to maintenance.

Either that or he really wants to keep the bike but posted the lame ad to appease his spouse and when nobody calls he can say "See?  Nobody wants the bike, might as well keep it."

From what I've seen it's easier to find an "affordable" BMW than an affordable Triumph, but that's just because there are a lot more Beemers out there and the modern Beemers have been on the market quite a bit longer than the modern Triumphs.

In reality, you can find great examples of both marques in the $3,000 - $4,000 range.  Sub-$3k it's easier to find an older (1980's) Beemer.  Any Triumph in that price range is probably a basket case.
