Tree Applications available NOW
Apply by February 15
Your group can spread the word about this special opportunity to your neighbors:
Email the Announcement
Email an announcement to members of your group. Residents can visit the link on the announcement to apply online.
Canvass the Neighborhood – Cross the Digital Divide and reach out to families who aren’t on your email list
Organize a home-based canvassing effort to take flyers and applications around to your neighbors, inviting them to apply for trees. Canvass between now and the beginning of February to ensure that residents can get their applications in by Feb 15. The Park People can provide canvassing materials and a canvassing guide. This is a wonderful opportunity to build a sense of community and purpose among neighbors and work toward tangible improvements to your neighborhood and the local and global environment.
Encourage your Neighborhood Newspaper to Run a Story or Advertisement
Attached is a press release. Reporters may contact The Park People for any additional information.
Drop Off Tree Applications to Neighborhood Hot Spots
You know your neighborhood’s hot spots and gathering places better than we do. Leave small stacks of tree applications at coffee shops, gardening stores, and other locations where folks might see and take them. Contact us for printed applications.
Host a Denver Digs Representative to Speak to your Group
A Park People staff member or volunteer can come to your group’s meeting to present briefly on the benefits of trees in our neighborhoods and what we have to offer for the spring distribution. (To conserve our organization’s precious resources, we prefer to speak to groups of 10 or more.)
Wine, Cheese, & Trees Host a block party to get to know your neighbors while advertising for trees. Set out tree applications for folks to take. Show off a tree you've gotten through Denver Digs Trees. A Denver Digs representative can give a brief spiel about this year's trees and how folks can apply. This is a fun no-pressure, social way to get more trees in your neighborhood, and you can certainly tailor it – instead of Wine & Cheese, it could be Cider & Cookies or Beer & Brats!
Please let me know if you think your group can help us get the word out about the FREE Spring Trees. You can contact me at 303-722-6262, kim@theparkpeople.org. Also, read below if you’d like more information about how trees improve our quality of life.
